Welcome to Emmet House

Emmet House is a small boutique style B&B situated in Emmet Square, Birr, Co Offaly that offers affordable accommodation to the modern traveller.  All rooms at Emmet House feature seating areas and work desks.  They also include tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers, slippers and toiletries.  Some rooms have a four poster bed and all beds are kingsize.  All rooms have a 32" flatscreen freesat tv and have free wifi.  A traditional home cooked Irish breakfast is served in the dining room which has a polished wooden floor, a chandelier and views out across the square.  Emmet restaurant is situated opposite the guest house.  

Birr Castle is a 5 min walk away and is famous for the Leviathan of Parsonstown telescope.  Birr Equestrian Centre is a 5 min drive. There are plenty of countryside walking routes in the area and the shores of Lough Derg are a 10 min drive away.  Birr Theatre and Arts Centre, Birr Leisure Centre, Childrens Playground, The Churches are all a 5 min walk.  

Birr Vintage week is held every year in August.  The Tullamore Show is also held in August and is just a 15 min drive.  The Country Fair is held in Birr Castle in August.   We are near the Slieve Bloom Mountains which is keen with walkers.  Kinnitty Castle is a 10 min drive.  The Leap Castle (the most haunted castle in Ireland) is a 15 min drive.  Moneygall is a 15 min drive. Terryglass is a 15 min drive. Banager is a 10 min drive. Tullamore is a 25 min drive. Portumna is a 15 min drive. Roscrea is a 15 min drive.
